Expanding the Mission: TutrMePrep at Catharine Elementary

What began as tutoring classmates and building a digital literacy program for a single refugee family is now taking the next step.

This spring, TutrMePrep is launching a new partnership with Catharine Elementary in Philadelphia, where I will be leading a weekly computer and digital literacy class for ESL third-grade students.

At Catharine, we’re moving from a family-based model to a classroom setting — developing a structured curriculum, coordinating volunteers, and working directly with a school to make these skills part of a student’s learning environment. Students will learn how to communicate through email, use translation tools, navigate the internet safely, and access online educational resources that support their daily lives.

This project represents an important shift for TutrMePrep:
from helping individual students → to building programs that can be repeated, improved, and sustained within real institutions.

More updates coming soon as the first sessions begin.
